(GMGC) Boys Team ended their 2004 2005 season with a bang! It was the team’s finest season ever. At the 2005 New York State Men’s Gymnastics Finals, the Senior Boys team (ages ten through twelve) captured first place in the state and the Junior Boys team (ages nine and under) won third place. In

on March 19th and 20th the GMGC Boys Team competed with the very best from all over
New York
State
. Over forty gyms from across the state sent 297 boys to compete in this year’s state championship. The competition lasted through four meets over the two days. The highlight of the New York State Championship for the team was that GMGC had eight boys who finished in the top ten All Around scores for their age bracket! A truly amazing accomplishment against the very best in
New York
State
. In the nine and under bracket Josh McLoed and Harris Label finished in fifth place tie with an overall score of 54.0 and Dylan Seals came in ninth place with an overall score of 53.15. In the ten and eleven bracket Kyle Johnson won the silver medal with a second place overall score of 55.0 and Mark Koutsantanou finished in eighth place with an overall score of 53.0. In the twelve and over bracket Vincent Filpo won the bronze medal with a third place overall score of 53.55 and Paris Yee finished in fourth place with an overall score of 53.45. And Zachary Teplin was the
New York
State
twelve year old and over Gold Medal Champion with an overall score of 55.15!
In all, six boys then went onto to compete at the Region IV championships, which were held April 23rd and 24th in
Lehigh Valley
,
PA.
The Regional Championships are the final competition of the season. There were the state champions from
New York
,
New Jersey
,
Pennsylvania
,
Delaware
,
Maryland
, Virginia & West Virginia competing at the event. At the regional finals there is no team award, just individual medal competition. Paris Yee led the way, coming home with five medals! Zachary Teplin medaled in four events. While Kyle Johnson and Vinnie Felpo each came home with three medals. Mark Koutsantanou, Harris Label and Josh McLoed each came home with a medal to cap off their seasons.
