Huntington USAG Boys Team Optional (Levels 8-10) 2009-2010
The Optional Boys Team had a very successful 2009-2010 competitive season. Here are some highlights:
New York City Invitational – February 6 & 7, 2010
The Level 8 Boys Team took 1st place!
- Jack Volpe placed 1st in the All Around and Chris Hidalgo placed 2nd in the All Around in the Level 8, 14-15 year old age group.
The Level 9 Boys Team took 1st place!
- Kyle Rooney placed 1st in the still rings, high bar, parallel bars and vault, 2nd in the pommel horse and 3rd on the floor exercise. He placed 1st in the All Around in his Level 9 age group.
- Callum Hutchinson placed 1st in the floor exercise, 2nd in the pommel horse, parallel bars and still rings and 2nd in the All Around in his Level 9 age group.
- Marty Lauter placed 2nd in the vault and floor exercise, 3rd in the still rings and 4th in the All Around for his level 9 age group.
- Phillip Glynn placed 3rd in the vault and 5th in the All Around in his Level 9 age group.
Level 10 Boys
- Mark Koutsantanou placed 2nd on the vault and 3rd on the high bar and parallel bars on his way to placing 3rd in the All Around in his Level 10 age group.
World Cup Challenge March 13 & 14, 2010
The Level 8 Boys Team took 1st place!
- Jack Volpe placed 1st in the All Around and Chris Hidalgo placed 2nd in the All Around in the Level 8, 14-15 year old age group.
The Level 9 Boys Team took 2nd place!
- Callum Hutchinson placed 4th in the All Around in his Level 9 age group.
- Phillip Glynn placed 7th in the All Around in his Level 9 age group.
- Harris Label placed 1st on the still rings and high bar on his way to placing 2nd in the All Around in his Level 9 age group.
- John Staudohar placed 1st in the vault in his Level 9 age group.
Level 10 Boys
- Mark Koutsantanou placed 5th on the vault and 7th on the floor exercise, pommel horse and parallel bars on his way to placing 7th in the All Around in his Level 10 age group.
New York State Championships – March 27 & 28, 2010
The Level 8 Boys Team took 2nd place!
- Jack Volpe placed 1st in the floor exercise, still rings, vault and parallel bars, 3rd in the high bar on his way to placing 1st in the All Around in the Level 8, 14-15 year old age group.
- Chris Hidalgo placed 2nd in the pommel horse, 3rd in the floor exercise and parallel bars and 5th on the still rings on his way to placing 6th in the All Around in the Level 8, 14-15 year old age group.
- John Natalone placed 2nd on vault and floor exercise in his Level 8, 11-13 year old age group.
The Level 9 Boys Team took 1st place!

- Callum Hutchinson placed 1st in the floor exercise, 2nd on the vault, 4th on the parallel bars and 7th on the high bar on his way to placing 4th in the All Around in his Level 9 age group.
- Marty Lauter placed 2nd in the floor exercise, 4th in the vault, and 6th on the parallel bars on his way to placing 7th in the All Around for his level 9 age group.

- Mark Koutsantanou placed 8th on the vault, 9th on the floor exercise, 10th on the still rings and 6th on the parallel bars on his way to placing 9th in the All Around in his Level 10 age group.
2010 Region VII Optional Gymnastics Championships – April 16-18, 2010
Level 8 Boys Team
- Jack Volpe placed 4th in the floor exercise, 10th in the vault 7th in the parallel bars and 9th in the high bar and the still rings on his way to placing 8th in the All Around in the Level 8, 14-15 year old age group.
- Chris Hidalgo placed 4th in the pommel horse and 3rd on the parallel bars on his way to placing 12th in the All Around in the Level 8, 14-15 year old age group.
Level 9 Boys Ages 11-13
- Marty Lauter, Callum Hutchinson and Phillip Glynn all qualified for Nationals!
Level 9 Boys Ages 14-15
- John Staudohar placed 2nd on the floor exercise and vault.
